4 English Breakfast Spots in Winnipeg for You, Good Sir
Canada is still ruled by His Majesty, but it’s surprising how few restaurants serve full English breakfasts—especially in Winnipeg. It was a long and arduous task, but we found four restaurants in the city to satisfy your English cravings.
1. Elephant & Castle

Elephant & Castle is a charming British pub that, while not open during breakfast hours, does serve English breakfast options for brunch.
It’s got a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re in a pub in Britain. Order the sausage and muffins with a pint of draft beer to truly start your day like an Englishman.
If you’re interested, here’s what you need to know:
2. The Toad in the Hole

The Toad in the Hole serves all the English staples: scotch eggs, sausages, fish n chips, and hearty shepherd’s pies. In true British alcoholic nature, the pub’s Scottish-inspired design creates the perfect backdrop for savoring these meals.
The shepherd’s pie is a fan favorite, but we recommend trying its scotch eggs. We usually get sick of the taste of scotch eggs after one bite, but the ones served here had us ordering two, even three times!
3. King’s Head Pub

If you’re indecisive like me and take 30 minutes to decide what you want, then don’t worry because the King’s Head Pub serves platters filled with all sorts of English breakfast items—all served below $20.
The breakfast skillet in particular is the safest and cheapest meal you can get, containing hash browns, two eggs, mixed veggies, cheese sauce, and toast all for $15. Add an extra $5 and you get bacon, sausages, and an extra egg.
4. The Don Restaurant

The Don Restaurant is probably the truest English breakfast spot in Winnipeg. It’s actually open during breakfast hours and also has a wider breakfast selection than Elephant & Castle, Toad in the Hole, and King’s Head.
The best part though? You get to customize your meals according to the ingredients you want, all for less than $5 per ingredient.
Sadly, the restaurant is closed on Mondays, which sucks because we all know it’s the worst day of the week.
