Formerly established as horse stables and haylofts in the height of the railway days, the Forks Market is one of the primes of “The Forks” development.

The Forks Market offers a breath of 1980s life with its historically inspired interior design. Its architectural area evokes an enhanced sense of community by providing the best gathering space for families and the public.

They also offer handcrafted and unique clothing apparel, artisan-inspired gifts, jewelry, toys, and much more! The Forks Market is open year-round to give you a fulfilling shopping experience.

The most common issue that you might face when visiting The Forks Market is its crowd population which could get busy at times, but that is also an affirmation of its positive public appeal.

Customer Review:

A desirable destination

“A pleasant shopping experience. You will find mainly articles of clothing by famous designers. A large selection of foods, drinks & places to sit. Wide halls under skylights & well placed sitting areas make this a desirable destination on a cold winter day. Don’t forget to leave your coat or jacket at the visitor’s centre. What a treat to walk, shop without having to carry your coat.”- Paula M.

An awesome mall

“Great mall for a city the size of Winnipeg. I was surprised to find such an awesome mall in Winnipeg – it felt like some of the big malls in the States! The deals were good and I made a variety of purchases from different stores. The cafeteria was diverse and the crepe place was awesome. Would definitely comeback next time I’m in Winnipeg! Will be prepared and have an extra bag though :).”- Rilain

In need of a shopping centre that could provide you with over a hundred store options at the comfort of your neighbourhood in Transcona? Kildonan Place is the one for you!

With a land area of 460,498 square feet (42,781.7 m2), Kildonan Place is considerably smaller than the other shopping malls presented in this list. Which could limit your shopping experience a bit—particularly dining.

However, despite the lower perimeter proportion, Kildonan Place is recognized as a well-compact and continuously developing shopping destination by most of its visitors.

They got stores for fashion accessories, general merchandise, home furnishings, stationery gifts, groceries, and many more. Other services include eye care, dental care, and electronics.

Since it’s located in the neighbourhood of Transcona, it is significantly easy to travel to. And with a total of 14 bus lines travelling to Kildonan Place, it is recognized as a quick one-stop mall.

Kildonan Place also works on the initiative of a higher inclusivity rate through the creation of an environment that is wheelchair and walker-friendly, which makes it a convenient and openly accessible shopping mall.

And like the Outlet Collection, Kildonan Place allows your fur friends to come with you within the mall. However, make sure that your pet is a service animal (necessary for your therapy and emotional support).

Pros

  • Free-wifi
  • Special Parking
  • Curbside Pickup
  • Accessible location
  • Wheelchair and walker friendly
  • Service animals are allowed
  • Great choice for family and kids day out

Cons

  • Smaller compared to other malls
  • Limited dining variety

Customer Reviews

Worth checking out

“This was our 3rd trip to Winnipeg in the last year. Both other times we went to Polo Park, the larger mall. It was good too, but I wish I had known about this mall sooner. As others have said, Kildonan is smaller than Polo Park, but it still has a great and varied selection. David’s Tea, Bath and Body Works, The Body Shop, Marshall’s and Urban Planet to name a few. Second Cup coffee. I was particularly impressed with their Boathouse store. Lots of great brands in there for the teens. I even got myself a Guns N Roses sweatshirt there. Lol Right now they have these beautiful, tie-dyed t-shirts. Great stretchy material/fit. They are only $14 and buying one supports We Day. (You can track online and see how buying your T-shirt helps places in the world). This mall is worth checking out.”- Jacqui T.

Crown jewel of Winnipeg

“Forever growing and expanding KP Mall is the anchor of Transcona for the last 40 years pioneering over 500 businesses in the area along Regent Avenue… KP Mall is the crown jewel of Winnipeg.”- James Antoine

Customer Reviews

Very nice and organized

“Very nice and organized mall to go shopping either alone or with your family. Very calm, with a good variety of shops as well as food service. The only one thing I would add is more bathrooms. But other than that I prefer this mall over Polo Park.”- Karen

Nice selection of shops

“Nice selection of shops and big box stores, everything you might need is pretty much here. In some respects, might be better than Polo Park, food court for example and direct access to the cinema and Chapters.”- Yuri D.
