Getting Vitamin D doesn’t always mean going to the beach or spending your time outdoors. You can get that sunshine goodness in the comfort of your home if you have a sunroom.
We know how time-consuming and hard it is to add a sunroom to your home by yourself, so we gathered the best installers of sunrooms in Winnipeg.
How Much Does Sunroom Installation Cost in Winnipeg
First, let’s discuss the price of sunroom installations.
The total average budget consists of material prices and labour costs. It also depends on what type of sunrooms you’d like to install in your home.
A three-season sunroom is the most popular addition and less expensive among other types.
If you’re planning to install a prefab kit from installers, it’d be more affordable and require less work to be finished. The price of a prefab sunroom kit ranges from $5,000 to $30,000.
However, you won’t be able to fully customize the room if you opt for a prefab sunroom kit. So if you’re aiming for a more personalized sunroom, this option might not be beneficial for you.
You’d also want to consider other costs such as building permits, site preparation, and room insulation.
While everything about this seems too costly, the benefits you’ll get from a sunroom are worth the investment. It adds value to your house and helps in improving your life all year round.
Here’s a table summarizing the average cost depending on its type. The price is inclusive of materials cost and labour fees.
|Type||Average total budget|
|Four season room||$52,500|
|Atriums with roofs||$22,500|

SunShade Ltd has been providing Winnipeg deck products since the late 1970s. They’re a family-run business specializing in awnings, canopies, patio covers, decks, and sunrooms.
This company also aims to improve families’ and homeowners’ lives through their products and services by having several types of research in their design and manufacturing.
Their products include 3-season sunrooms, screen enclosures, wall systems, balcony enclosures, patio covers, and carports. We like that each of their products comes with detailed descriptions and info on features & benefits on their website.
And if you want to see their past projects, you can easily check their portfolio online. Their past works of sunrooms, wall systems, and patio covers are featured in their gallery.
We’re also impressed with their unique flotation system explicitly designed for soil movement. This eliminates the unwanted structure movement during outdoor constructions such as building fences and landscaping.
We’d also like to highlight that the flotation system is tested and certified by engineers and approved by the City of Winnipeg engineers.
What’s also good about them is that their services come with a written guarantee. The warranty for their workmanship is five years and ten years for the baked enamel paint finish roof.
Aside from that, they employ their own installers–which means they oversee their workers’ skills and qualifications. You can be ensured that you’ll have a sunroom built with care and expertise.
However, we think that it’s a downside that they’re closed on Sundays. But they’re quite flexible with appointments, you can just give them a call for their available times and dates.
The excellent customer service of SunShade is also notable. Their friendly and professional approach to their customers made them the 2022 Consumer Choice Award recipient.
And to top it off, SunShade provides free design consultations to potential clients. Future customers are also free to choose their appointment time, whether it’s during the day, evening, or on weekends.
Our sunroom was built in 2001, and we have enjoyed it immensely since then
“Our sunroom was built in 2001, and we have enjoyed it immensely since then. It’s still like new. Great place to sit while watching the rain. No mosquitos!!! The people from Sunshade Products were very good to work with; friendly, good follow-up… I built the deck portion myself to save money and they were very helpful in planning the construction of the deck/floor with me. If we move I will get another sunroom from them.”—Greg Wood, Google Reviews
The sunroom is fantastic and the product they have is great
“I can’t endorse this company enough. Without going into detail, I had a situation that required a big schedule change and a lot of moving things around on their end. Not only were they empathetic, but they truly went above and beyond to facilitate. Ultimately the sunroom is fantastic and the product they have is great / you won’t find any better. However, more important to me was that this company demonstrated heart and took care of what will now be a lifelong customer and ambassador.”—Ryan Timm, Google Reviews

DeckCity was established in 2004 by a journeyman carpenter, Jason Thiessen. Since then, they’ve been providing luxurious outdoor and living design services for the community of Winnipeg and other nearby locations.
Right off the bat, we like that Jason and his wife Jessica are both knowledgeable and skilled in line with their business. Jason has vast experience in construction and concrete work, while Jessica, on the other hand, studied architecture at the University of Manitoba.
They specialize in building decks, patios, screen rooms, and sunrooms. They also provide landscaping services to their customers.
We like that they have a showroom that features designs and photos of the projects that they worked on. Prospective clients can also review the kinds of products that DeckCity will use.
We’re impressed with how easy it is to avail their services once you’ve decided you’re going with them. You’ll have your dream backyard or sunroom built in just four easy steps.
You consult your design preference with them in the showroom, and they visit your home for site inspection. Right after that, they provide you with the design & workplan options, and once you’re settled with the design, they’ll start working on the project.
And if you’re still in the canvassing state, you can take advantage of their free consultation. Just book your appointment with them through a phone call.
But note that DeckCity doesn’t operate during the weekends, so you might want to plan accordingly.
Despite that, we still like this entry for their 3D design feature. You can easily envision your dream sunroom through their architectural 3D renders.
Another good thing about DeckCity is that they provide flexible payment plans. They have options that make the project scalable in terms of payment.
They divide the design process into phases in which parts of the projects are installed. The fee becomes an installation as well, making it more affordable and budget-friendly.
We also like that they offer a warranty for their workmanship. However, we think that a 2-year warranty for their expertise is quite short.
But despite that, we like that DeckCity takes care of everything needed when building a sunroom, such as applying and acquiring building permits. They also ensure that your home is free from construction debris by using mats and tarps to easily collect all dirt from the process.
Having Deck City build my new deck was a stress-free procedure
“Having Deck City build my new deck was a stress-free procedure. In the planning stage the consultant outlined a few suggestions and listened to my request for a specific type of seating/table arrangement to produce a 3D rendering of the finished deck. We chose the building materials from actual samples rather than photos. The ground was carefully prepared, skilled workmen started work on the date set and continued working to complete the job in a timely fashion. Even the neighbors commented on how quietly and professionally the carpenters worked. The result is a deck on which I know I will love to relax and entertain.”—Mary Sheehan, Google Reviews
It was a pleasure to work with everyone from Deck City from start to finish
“I would highly recommend Deck City. It was a pleasure to work with everyone from Deck City from start to finish! Communication was clear, documentation was clear, the job was done fast, zero slacking, super attention to detail, amazing results! I love my new deck, and am going to enjoy this warm weather even more now! Thank you Deck City!!”—Cindy Cannon, Google Reviews

SunCo has been in the industry for over 24 years. They’re committed to providing excellent and superior sunrooms and other outdoor living areas.
Backyard Paradise by SunCo serves the city of Winnipeg and other nearby communities.
Aside from installing sunrooms, they also build patios, pergolas, and decks. Custom projects are also accepted, so if you dream of having an indoor tub or pool, they can help you achieve that.
We like that Backyard Paradise by SunCo provides complimentary in-home consultation with their professional designers. This is beneficial for every customer since they don’t have to shed extra money for a consultation.
They also have a showroom where prospective clients can visit to check out the products and materials they use for their projects.
We also love that they provide 3D drawings of their design plans. We think that this is an advantage so that customers can easily visualize their dream sunrooms.
They also take care of the other nitty-gritty part of building a sunroom, like engineering reviews, building permits and additional clearances you need to meet before the project takes off.
And as for their sunroom materials, you can expect the best since they’re partnered with their trusted brands and companies. They work hand-in-hand with WH Enterprise, Sunset Decks, and Windsor Plywood among others.
However, we think that it’s a drawback that they only feature three-season sunrooms in their design portfolio. Despite that, we’re impressed that they offer different styles for their sunrooms, like studio sunrooms or gable sunrooms.
It’s also a downside that they don’t have upfront info about their warranty.
Even so, we’re still impressed with Backyard Paradise because they can install your sunrooms even during the winter months.
Lastly, we like that Backyard Paradise’s employees are professional and friendly. Upon talking to their former customers, they said they had a great time working with them.
We could not be happier with our Backyard Paradise
“We could not be happier with our Backyard Paradise. All of our dealings with the company were professional, courteous and respectful. All of our many questions quickly answered quickly either through e-mail or telephone. The installation was started on time and finished within the promised date. The installation crew were outstanding and again answered any of our questions throughout the process. The finished product is everything we wanted it to be and we’ve been in it just about every day! Thanks to Backyard Paradise for a job well done.”—Peter Young, Google Reviews
Our backyard couldn’t be more of a paradise
“We just had our sunroom and deck built by Backyard Paradise. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the result! Everything is exactly as agreed in the original design. Roger was extremely professional and caring from the time he spent prior to our signing the contract, through the build and to the final inspection. His team of Patrick and Brandon were hard working, professional and approachable throughout. To help keep us on time, Roger spent two days with Mike building our deck. From start to finish, it took 6-days to complete everything. These are the guys you want building your sunroom! Our backyard couldn’t be more of a paradise! Thanks, Roger, Patrick and Brandon!”—Martha Bradbury, Google Reviews
