Katie May Warriner has lived in Winnipeg all of her life. Despite that, she admits she still finds things in it that astonish her on occasion. While she recently moved to a location outside of the city to experience country living with her growing family, she still lives close enough to continue finding the best things about Winnipeg for us. When she’s not discovering new things about her hometown, she’s spending time with her four kids, as well as the family pets: a Rottweiler Terrier named Dottie and a cat named Chicken.

SM Rukunujjaman, originally hailing from Bangladesh, moved to Winnipeg to study Computer Science at the University of Manitoba. While juggling the requirements of his degree, SM also works as a tutor at Tutorbright Teaching Company, helping guide students all over Canada in their science and math subjects. 

When he’s not at work or in school, SM is fond of exploring the Winnipeg landscape and spends his time playing soccer, cricket, and hockey in the city’s best sports facilities. His passion for learning and helping others motivates him to constantly unravel the gems of Winnipeg and share his discoveries with locals and tourists alike.

Zeel Modi is a student at the University of Manitoba, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with minors in Economics. 

He juggles his academic requirements with a job as a retail sales associate at Mark's Canada, which allows him to interact with customers and ensure they have a pleasant shopping experience. A people person, Zeel took the job because of his love for meeting new people and making friends. 

When he’s not at school or work, Zeel reveals his more adventurous nature, exploring new places and trying fun activities in Winnipeg. You can count on him to be the first person to show up at a newly opened restaurant, already sampling the menu and writing up a review. 

A passionate extrovert, Zeel’s hobbies include ice skating, skiing, and actively participating in festivals and community events in Winnipeg.

Harleen moved to Canada after high school and later settled in Winnipeg. While she has a thriving career doing logistics and operations for companies in the transportation industry, she also has a passion for creative work, with a particular love for writing and art. This explains why she has also taken roles as a social media manager, where she gets to combine her love for creativity with business and outreach.

Today, she also helps us by visiting local cafes, restaurants, and sightseeing spots all around the city, writing about them to help others connect with these places and the other people enjoying them.

Toluwani Adetola is a Biochemistry student at the University of Manitoba who also loves writing and research – both skills that he has put to good use when writing articles for us! Outside academia, Toluwani serves as a Volunteer at Siloam Missions, a non-profit Christian humanitarian organization, and as a ticket inspector at Winnipeg Blue Bombers, contributing to both community service and professional sports.

Driven by a love for world history and psychology, he loves reading biographies, writing, meditation, volunteering, and watching historical fiction. Toluwani aspires to become a world-class research biochemist and author, aiming to inspire the younger generation to persevere and push boundaries.

Obosi Stella Awele moved to Winnipeg in 2021 to pursue a degree in Advanced Business Management at the University of Winnipeg. Since then, she has worked as an Administrative and Customer Service Officer in various industries, including wholesale, retail, and consumer goods. 

Her creative nature allows her to excel not only in her work but also in her various hobbies. She is most passionate about traveling and meeting interesting people along the way. When not at work, Obosi spends her time out and about in Winnipeg, on the hunt for new restaurants to try, stores to shop, activities to immerse in, and people to connect with.
