Dvorák & Stafylakis Violin Concert Premieres in Winnipeg in February 2025
Music lovers in Winnipeg will have the rare opportunity to witness the world premiere of Harry Stafylakis’ Violin Concerto, alongside Antonin Dvorak’s symphonies, on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 7 PM.
Presented by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO), the concert will take place at the Centennial Concert Hall under the baton of conductor Daniel Raiskin.
The evening will open with Hanna Havrylets’ Chorale for Strings, a tribune to the late Ukranian composer who passed away in 2022.
Then, classical virtuoso Rachel Barton Bine will perform Harry Stafylakis’ highly-anticipated Violin Concerto. To end the night, the WSO will deliver a stirring performance of Antonin Dvorák’s Symphonic Variations.
