Cruise Through History at Winnipeg’s Transpo Expo on August 16, 2025

Journey through time at Winnipeg’s Transpo Expo, which is taking place on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Through family-friendly activities and incredible exhibits, you can explore different modes of transportation from 1836 to the present day.

They have quite a collection to showcase, ranging from canoes and horse-drawn carts to motor cars. Our favorite is the British Car Show, which features 40+ vehicles from the 1940s to the 1980s.

Last year, a 1973 Austin Mini, owned by the President of the Mid-Canada Mini Group, caught our eye. Hopefully, he’ll put it on display again.

Aside from the usual exhibits, we’re looking forward to Armand and Kelly Jerome’s presentation on Red River carts. From 12 PM to 3 PM, you can listen to how this Metis builder makes horse-drawn carts from scratch, without nails.

At the event, there will be a concession stand where you can get snacks and refreshments. And if you haven’t done hobby horse racing, this might be the only time you can try it.

Winnipeg’s Transpo Expo will take place at the Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site from 10 AM to 4:30 PM on August 16.
