An exciting cooking competition is coming to Winnipeg on Oct 1, 2025
Winnipeg’s top chefs are going to cook their hearts out for a chance to be recognized at Canada’s Great Kitchen Party. The annual culinary extravaganza returns on October 1, 2025, at the RBC Convention Center’s York Ballroom.
There will be 7 chefs in the competition: Darnell Banman of Therma Spa Village, Emily Butcher of Bar Accanto, Mike De Groot of Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar, Ken Hoang of Le Colonial, Norman Pastorin of Basta Filipino Kitchen, Chinnie Ramos of Wow Catering, and Lauren Wiebe-Dembowski of Niakwa Country Club.
Just like previous contests, they must whip up three courses: a cold appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. We like to go on an empty stomach so there’s room to enjoy the full meal, along with the wine tasting that follows.

The cooking competition starts at 6 PM, but if you have VIP tickets, you can join the cocktail party at 5:30 PM. From 7:40 to 9:30, we’ll have dessert and live entertainment before proceeding to the auction and the awarding ceremonies.
