How much do granite countertops and installation services cost?

Granite countertop prices are affected by factors such as grade, size, texture, and even color. Of course, the supplier and installer also play a role in the cost.

The tables below only show you the average cost of materials and services in the area. Actual prices could go lower or higher depending on the factors mentioned above.

FLOFORM is a family-owned countertop company with over 60 years of experience. Since opening its doors in 1961, it has been selling, fabricating, and installing countertops all over Canada.

It’s not just one of the longest-running businesses in the industry, FLOFORM is also one of the biggest. In fact, other than Winnipeg, it has 13 other showrooms across Western Canada and Northwest USA.

We like that FLOFORM has a wide selection of materials to choose from. Other than granite, it also features countertop materials such as quartz, solid surface, laminate, porcelain, and butcher blocks.

On the granite front, we like FLOFORM’s wide selection of colors and designs available. With over 30 natural patterns to choose from, you are only limited by your imagination.

But if you’re on the fence about which granite to choose from, no worries. If you log in to its website, you’ll be able to use its visualizer tool to help you picture how your pick will look on your countertops at home.

FLOFORM’s edging and fabricating services also make it perfectly prepared to take care of all your countertop needs. Not only will your countertops look seamless, but they will also be safer.

On the downside, the company’s granite countertops and installation services seem to cost more than others. And we are not very fond of having to remove and prepare everything for its installers before they arrive.

Still, its 6-year warranty and unquestionable expertise make it definitely worth checking out!

Pros

  • Free consultation
  • Licensed and insured
  • Over 60 years in the industry

Cons

  • Can be quite expensive
  • Trip charges may apply
  • Removal of obstruction should be done by homeowner

Customer Reviews

Awesome experience

From the young lady that visited our home to the woman that helped us make a final choice in their showroom and especially the 2 men that arrived and installed our countertops we were treated well and are very happy with our experience. All were polite and friendly. The installers didn’t rush and were very thorough, taking the time to “clean up” the plumbing under our sink. – Craig Werntz, Google Reviews

Great service

Excellent.  Gino and his team were fantastic!  Arrived on schedule, did a very professional job installing our Flo Form quartz countertops that fit perfectly and are seamless.  Experienced, efficient, knowledgeable, courteous, and personable who explained everything we needed to know. Installation was completed in a very timely fashion as well. Even though I normally do not submit feedback reviews,  I wholeheartedly recommend Gino and his team. – Richard Anderson, Google Reviews

KCD is a quartz and granite countertop supplier and installer in Winnipeg with over 8 years of experience in the industry.

As its name suggests, the company specializes in using these two materials for its services. And that may not seem like a lot to go on, but its inventory boasts of having hundreds of pieces in stock for you to choose from.

KCD Quartz & Granite uses the latest technology in templating, fabrication, and installation. This helps ensure the quality of its work and allows it to deliver faster turnaround times.

What we love about the company is that it works with you to cater to your design while working on a budget. This is extremely beneficial since renovating countertops can be quite pricey.

In fact, one of the greatest edges the company has is its competitive pricing. Coupled with its professional customer service, it’s no wonder that KCD is a highly rated countertop store.

What’s more, its crew will also help you with the heavy lifting in removing your existing countertops and preparing your home for installation — a service not found in other shops!

However, we feel like its website leaves much to be desired. Not only does it lack the visualizer tool that others have, but it also doesn’t give much information about its products and services.

And since the company is relatively new, it doesn’t have the extensive portfolio that its competitors have. In fact, its gallery is only comprised of a handful of pictures from previous clients.

All in all, KCD Quartz & Granite’s positively-reviewed customer service and reasonably priced services make it a very strong contender for your countertop needs!

Pros

  • Top-notch customer service
  • Reasonably priced products and services
  • Fast turnaround time

Cons

  • Relatively new company
  • Smaller portfolio

Customer Reviews

Excellent work overall

KCD Stone and Counter came recommended to me by an Interior Designer who had truly favorable things to say about this company.  I primarily dealt with Denver who was always so accommodating, polite, and professional.  His prompt communication was remarkable.  The install was done exactly when we had hoped and the installation team, Chris, Josh, and Kevin, were friendly, professional, and very capable!  We are very pleased with the variety of choices we had, the communication, installation, and pricing.  Many thanks to all for your efforts/work! – Lori Orford Maksymyk, Google Reviews

Highly recommended

Excellent customer service. We were recommended KCD through our contractor and we were very impressed throughout the entire process. Very knowledgeable staff that actively worked within our budget. The turnaround time was also very impressive given the supply chain issues. They deal with many local vendors which we also appreciated. – Kevin Robson, Google Reviews

Western Marble, Granite & Tile opened its doors in 1977. And after over 45 years of being in the industry, the company has extended its reach beyond Winnipeg to surrounding areas, including Selkirk, Northwestern Ontario, Flin Flon, and more.

It offers a complete package of services from the selection of materials to use, designing your project, templating, fabrication, and installation.

As you may have already guessed from its name, the company uses marble, granite, and tile for its services, with the addition of quartz to that list.

But what we like most about Western is its large showroom. It features a wall of samples with hundreds of tiles, which you can sign and test out on your own counter and lighting.

We also like that it has partnered with around 16 suppliers around the globe for its materials. This greatly helps widen your choices so you can find the perfect balance between quality and price.

After more than 4 decades of experience, the company has amassed quite the portfolio. It has worked with various residential and commercial projects including the Canadian Museum of Human Rights.

However, as great as its services are, you still have to go through the arduous process of preparing the area before its crew comes in for templating and installation.

That means you have to remove all your old countertops, disconnect electrical appliances, gas lines, and plumbing, and a whole lot of other work to prepare the area.

Although that may be a price most customers are willing to pay for great service, damages to the walls during the process aren’t — just a little caveat to keep in mind.

Nonetheless, with over a hundred positive reviews from its previous clients, Western  Marble, Granite & Tile is a countertop expert that’s hard to ignore.

Pros

  • Large selection of granite
  • Free design consultation and visualizer tool
  • Extensive countertops portfolio

Cons

  • Additional work for preparation
  • Touch-up expenses

Solid Stone Countertops Inc. is a Winnipeg-based one-stop-shop for all your countertop needs. Not only does it supply granite to its clients, but the company also helps from designing your project to installation.

One of the best things we like about it is that it has stocks of materials on hand. While others mostly have remnants from previous projects, Solid Stone has a plethora of slabs of granite and quartz available.

It also has more than 30 granite varieties for you to choose from. And with that many options with color and pattern, you can be more flexible and creative with your next countertop project.

It works with other suppliers in the region to make sure that you find what you’re looking for. What’s more, it has one of the largest fabrication shops in the city, allowing it to take on jobs of any size.

Solid Stone Countertops isn’t a slouch in its portfolio as well. Its website showcases several residential kitchen and bathroom countertops as well as other commercial projects.

Although it has a visualizer tool and product browsing option online, the only thing that we feel is missing is a price matrix. So unless you call or email for a quote, you won’t have a clue how much your selection may cost.

Its warranty policy isn’t easily visible on its website as well. So before signing anything, make sure that you understand what its services include and what they don’t.

Other than that, Solid Stone Countertops has left every one of its customers happy and completely satisfied with its services. Maybe now it’s your turn!

Pros

  • Highly-rated services
  • Considerable portfolio
  • Fast turnaround times

Cons

  • No price browsing option
  • Unclear warranty policies

Renaissance Granite is a family-owned and locally-operated countertop installation company that it’s conveniently located close to the heart of the city.

The company specializes in the fabrication and installation of granite, marble, and quartz tops. Whether the project is for your kitchen, vanity, shower, ledge, and even fireplace, RG has got you covered.

It takes on both residential and commercial countertop projects. So no matter how small or large your project is, don’t hesitate to take advantage of its free estimation.

Although the company is not a granite supplier, it has partnered with 2 of the biggest players on the market that import quality stones around the globe  — Global Suppliers Group and Prairie Stone Market.

On the plus side, what we like about the company is that it’s very transparent about its services and what its customers should expect. Its website even has a helpful guide on countertop care and maintenance.

Its fabrication and installation services are covered with a 1-year warranty. Unfortunately, this only applies to residential projects solely, not commercial ones.

Unlike its quartz countertops, granites don’t have any manufacturer warranty as well. And though its granite with SenSa by Cosentino treatment is covered with a 15-year warranty, it’s only against staining.

What’s more, we feel like the company could have worked on its website. The site’s stone theme is witty, but it can get old very quickly.

Also, it could have added relevant information such as installation fees and the cost of other services. And since it doesn’t have a visualizer tool, a better gallery of its previous works could have helped bridge that gap.

All told, Renaissance Granite’s competitive pricing and positively reviewed customer service have earned it a spot on this list.

Pros

  • Convenient location
  • Competitive prices
  • Highly rated customer service

Cons

  • Website needs improvement
  • No warranty for commercial projects
  • Limited portfolio and gallery for viewing
