Customer Reviews

They were amazing

“Did my 3 month olds passport photos here and they were AMAZING. She wasn’t cooperative always and they had toys to distract her and they got a picture that works for the government (which isn’t easy to do with a baby lol). I went back to get my photos done too and they were great. A little expensive but they come with package deals and so I was happy to pay! They also work very hard, recovered my daughters photos after I lost them during a move, and had the photos ready quickly.”Kelsey Bergen, Google Reviews

The payment was worth the service

“Crystal was amazing and well knowledgeable. She  helped me with everything I needed and walked me through what I needed to do. I am so glad I went there instead of going to somewhere else. The payment was worth the service.”Paul Okoli, Google Reviews

They’re one of the largest camera stores in Western Canada. Aside from selling cameras and gear, they also provide services such as passport photos, camera repairs, film processing, and print scanning, among many others.

Another impressive thing about them is that they guarantee that their staff are professional and experienced in taking passport photos. In case your photos aren’t accepted by the government, they’ll give you a full refund and re-shoot your photos for free.

It’s just a downside that Don’s Photos is closed on Sundays, so it’s best to plan your visit accordingly.

But despite that, we like that they have two stores located in the city. One on Portage Avenue, and the other one on Main Street.

We also like that they offer passport photos with biometrics technology service. They use software that helps in checking photos against International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and local regulations to make sure that you get a quality and guaranteed passport photo.

Henry’s is a camera store located in SmartCentres in Kenaston Boulevard. They’re a Canadian family-owned business specializing in selling cameras, printing photos, and other photography services.

Henry’s also provides photo services such as passport photos, photo printing and retouching, film processing, and image recovery, just to name a few.

What we like about them is that they offer different options to save your passport picture. You can get hard copies, or have your photos emailed to you or saved to a USB key.

However, we think that their starting price for a passport package is quite expensive. The rate starts at CAD19.99 and additional fees may apply if you opt to have them delivered via email or saved on a USB key.

We also think that it’s a drawback that they have shorter business hours. Their store is also closed on Monday, so you might want to plan your visit.

But despite that, we think Henry’s is still worthy of mentioning on this list. They accept walk-in customers.

The processing time for their passport photos is also prompt. Once your photos are taken, you just have to wait for 15 minutes to have your photos printed.

We also like that they use Biometric Technology when taking passport photos. This ensures that your photos meet the government standards.

It’s also worth mentioning that they provide passport photo services for babies, and they also provide photo ID services for student cards, permanent residence, etc.

Pros

  • Quick photo processing
  • Accepts walk-ins
  • Offers different options for your photos to be saved
  • Uses biometric technology for taking passport photos

Cons

  • Closed on Monday
  • Relatively short business hours

Aside from providing photography equipment, they also offer services such as passport photos, digital printing, film processing, fine art printing, and photo framing & mounting, among many others.

The first thing that we like about Photo Central is their long operating hours. Their store opens at 9 AM and closes at 6 PM.

We also like that their passport picture service comes with a complimentary drink. You can enjoy sipping coffee or hot chocolate while you wait for your photos to be processed.

Photo Central doesn’t require an appointment so walk-ins are welcome. They also provide other ID services for visas, immigration, citizenships, and others.

However, we think that it’s a disadvantage that they don’t have info about their packages and the rates.
