Advanced Massage Therapy was established in 2005. Since then, they have been providing a wide variety of massage services to the community of Winnipeg.

They have four branches across the city, making them a handy place for massage therapies. Some of their services are Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point massage, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), just to name a few.

They also offer acupuncture services–however, this is only available at the Ness location.

This is the same for their laser therapy and deep tissue detox treatment. While these are great massage therapy services, we think it’d be more beneficial if they were available in all of their locations.

Still, customers can avail of these services by going to those locations.

They also have an online booking system, which makes it easier for customers to book their appointment. However, we think that it’s a downside that you still need to call them before your online booking gets confirmed.

In addition to other good stuff about Advanced Massage Therapy, they can assure you that they provide the same quality of service to all of their locations. This is evident because of their six consecutive Consumer Choice Awards for Massage Therapy.

Another thing that we like about this clinic is that they’re open seven days a week, so Advance Massage Therapy is the place for your flexible schedule.

Pros

  • Many branches across the city
  • Open seven times a week
  • Wide array of services
  • Six-time Consumer Choice Awardee

Cons

  • Some services aren’t offered in their other locations
  • Doesn’t mention what insurance companies they provide a direct billing service

My lower back felt amazing after the treatment

“Absolutely fantastic! The front desk was very nice and helpful but the massage was even better! I had Jason as my therapist and he went above and beyond my expectations. He was able to target my trouble spots and educated me more about proper body mechanics and stretches that I could do through out the day. My lower back felt amazing after the treatment! 10/10 will come again!”Ivy Monton, Google Reviews

Prairie Sage was established to pursue their mission of providing massage therapy based on an individual’s specific needs and preferences. Whether it’s for relaxation purposes or it’s required as a medical treatment, they aim to bring overall wellness to their customers.

This clinic offers massage therapy, hot stone therapy, prenatal massage, and breast massage, among others. Their services can cater to almost any person with different needs and likes.

However, we think that Prairie Sage is lacking in other modalities that are also beneficial to the customer’s health. For one, they don’t offer IASTM or acupuncture, which most of our entries have.

But what made this clinic stand out to us is their low and affordable prices. Their 75 minutes of massage therapy costs $90.48 only.

We also like that their online booking system is easy and convenient. You also have the option to choose your preferred therapist.

They also have gift certificates that you can give to your friends and loved ones. Just let them know to book their appointments on weekdays and Saturdays since they’re closed on Sundays.

It’s also a snag that they have shorter hours on Fridays and Saturdays, which we think most customers would prefer to have a relaxing massage session after work.

Despite that, we like that Prairie Sage’s therapists are friendly and welcoming to their patrons. They’re also available for direct billing for most major insurances such as Sun Life Financial and Blue Cross.

Pros

  • Gift certificates available
  • Easy online booking
  • Direct billing to most major insurance providers
  • Friendly therapists

Cons

  • Closed on Sunday
  • Lacks other services
  • Relatively shorter hours on Friday and Saturday

Staff are professional and friendly

“Very clean and well maintained interior, very calming environment. Staff are professional and friendly, while being down to earth. First massage was excellent, therapist listened to my concerns and found the perfect level of pressure in the area I needed. Will be back.”Andrew Stewart, Google Reviews

Loved the room decor, very cozy

“First time visit ever today at Prairie Sage. My appointment was with Becky. Had sciatica since Friday and wicked pain, unable to walk/sit/get up. She is great massage therapist, explained the process and whatever magic massage tricks she did – it seems to be working. Nice personality too. Definitely will be back! And loved the room decor. Very cozy, you can really relax. Direct billing is a bonus. Thanks Becky.”Joanna Ozga, Google Reviews

Back in Motion has been in the massage therapy business since 2001. Their goal is to provide a variety of therapy services to help improve the everyday lives of their patrons.

We like that this clinic has a wide array of therapies being offered. They’re available for massage therapy, acupuncture, sports massage, and reflexology, among many others.

We’d also like to highlight that they offer one-on-one yoga sessions. We think this is a huge bonus since this clinic has a registered yoga instructor – you can take this opportunity to practice the art of mediation and relaxation through yoga.

Another thing that we like about Back in Motion is their wheelchair-friendly facility. Their front and rear entrances have ramps that are accessible for wheelchairs.

Not only that, they have free parking available for their valued customers. Moreover, to keep the boredom at bay while waiting for your turn, their place has free Wi-Fi.

What’s also great about this clinic is that its prices are affordable, too. Their one-hour-long massage therapy is only priced at $80.00.

However, we think that it’s a disadvantage that Back in Motion only accepts direct insurance billing to Blue Cross and Canada Life. For other health care insurance providers, you need to ask for assistance from your therapists first.

If you’re not available for the day of your appointment, it’s best to tell them 24 hours before your schedule, since they charge 70% of your booked services for a missed appointment.

Nonetheless, this clinic is still one of our favorites since they’re open seven times a week.

Pros

  • Accessible for handicaps
  • Free parking
  • Offers yoga sessions
  • Facility has free wifi

Cons

  • Mixed reviews online
  • Charges high percentage for missed appointment

Highly recommended

“Highly recommend ! I’ve been seeing Kelsey for many years now and she is the best there is! She checks in with how you’re doing at every appointment, never assumes you’ll need the same treatment as before, understands the needs of her clients change and adapts her massages to those needs. She’s also very personable and friendly!”Dani K, Google Reviews

I always feel comfortable when I’m there, and I always feel great when I leave

“I’ve been seeing Lindsay for a couple years now. I had never had a deep tissue massage let alone a relaxation massage before going to see her and I have nothing but good things to say about Lindsay. I am always taken in on time, I always feel comfortable when I’m there, and I always feel great when I leave.”Ashlee Kern, Google Reviews

New Leaf Massage Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation is a go-to place for both relaxation and remedial massages. They specialize in the treatment of stress and muscle-skeletal restrictions.

With that being said, athletes and active people alike can benefit from this clinic’s offering.

They have an extensive range of massage services. They offer Graston Technique (GT) Therapy which helps in treating fascial restrictions and tendon dysfunction.

Aside from that, they also provide taping using Kinesio tape. This therapy is an advantage for customers who have overused tired muscles as the Kinesio tapes help in reducing pain and inflammation.

We also think that their GT Therapy and Kinesio taping is an advantage among our other entries since they’re the only place in this list that offers those services.

It’s also good to mention that this clinic is available for online booking. Their website is easy to navigate and has all the info you might need before your appointment.

However, it’s best to note that they require a 50% downpayment as their appointment fee. If you missed your schedule without any notice, you’ll be charged 100% of the appointment fee.

Even so, the facility of New Leaf Massage Therapy & Sports Rehab is perfect for relaxing because of its clean space and calming decor and ambiance.

Pros

  • Offers couple massage
  • Wide selection of services
  • Provides direct billing to 15+ insurance companies
  • Clean and calming facility

Cons

  • Requires 50% downpayment as an appointment fee
  • Relatively expensive rates

Always assesses and listens to any issues I’m having and targets those spots during treatment

“I’ve been seeing Justin at New Leaf for a while and I would recommend him to anyone. He always assesses and listens to any issues I’m having and targets those spots during treatment. I have tense legs and shoulders and he is able to treat these areas so that I haven’t had any real issues with them in a long time. 10/10 recommend!”Benjamin MacLeod, Google Reviews

After my first appointment I booked my next one, she’s worth it

“I went here to find a massage therapist/for some therapeutic massaging to work on my problem areas. I was referred here by a friend, and referred specifically to Taliah. She was great! She really worked on my problem areas, and put great effort into my first appointment. After my first appointment I booked my next one, she’s worth it! Highly recommend. The location is also very nice, clean and presentable!”Aneehs Wilson, Google Reviews

If you want to be treated nicely during your massage therapy sessions, then In Good Hands is one of your best options. Their mission is to make you feel relaxed and welcomed once you avail of their services.

In Good Hands is made up of seven registered massage therapists and they’ve been in the business for more than ten years.

They provide these massage modalities: relaxation, deep tissue, pregnancy, and acupuncture. While these are the core of massage therapy services, we think that it’d be best for customers to have a wide selection of services for their needs.

Despite that, In Good Hands’ competitive prices made them worth mentioning in this list. As of the time of this writing, you’ll be able to enjoy a 90-minute massage for $120.00.

They also accept direct billing to Blue Cross and Canada Life. However, if you have another insurance provider, it might be an inconvenient billing experience for you.

In Good Hands doesn’t have online booking which we think is a missed chance since most of the entries on this list offer convenient reservations.

Nevertheless, their comfortable and relaxing facility makes up for the lack of their online booking system. In Good Hands keeps their place clean and provides warm massage beds for their customers.

On top of that, their therapists have a professional and friendly attitude toward their clients, which results in repeating happy customers.

Pros

  • Relatively affordable prices
  • Clean and relaxing facility
  • Provides warm massage beds
  • Professional and friendly therapist

Cons

  • Closed on Sunday
  • Lacks other massage services
  • No online booking

The team at In Good Hands is amazing! Relaxing environment with professional and polite therapists whom actually care about the root cause of your pain, medical history, etc. rather than just trying to “put a band aid” over it.
