“Inland Glass once again provided exceptional service! I brought my car here on Monday morning for repair of my rear window after it was broken and they were able to get it fixed early afternoon! Glass Doctor of North Winnipeg has been providing excellent services for automotive, residential, and commercial glass for more than 60 years now.
We like that it offers extensive custom glass services, among them bespoke glass shelves, mirrors, shower doors, and pet doors.
We also have to give it to Glass Doctor for providing various glass edge and shower door styles that suit different home interiors.
As for quality, this glazier gets plus points as it applies hydrophobic coating to glass. From what we’ve found, this special layer protects the glass from hard water stains that may damage them in the long run.
We also like how this special coating makes glass easier to clean, ensuring a sparkling-clear finish.
Another strong point is that Glass Doctor does repairs and replacements for auto headlights. Other glass repair shops only do windshield and side mirror fixes and restoration.
It’s also a plus that its glaziers use a restoration system that fixes cracks and discolouration without having to take the whole headlight out.
And like the “doctor” it is, we appreciate it for offering free consultation services for clients.
Specialists come in to assess the structure or automobile, then give estimates or quotes for the project.
That said, we weren’t too pleased to hear that some of the staff weren’t that responsive in terms of booking consultations.
We’re also disappointed that some clients apparently got responses days after and had their glass projects completed behind schedule.
We think the company needs to work on its availability and punctuality to serve its clients better since some clients may require quick or emergency glazier services.

Alder Glass & Aluminum is a family-owned business that has provided quality glasswork and metal frames for both residential and commercial sectors.
In terms of its speciality, the company is known for its excellent craftsmanship in building shower enclosures and custom windows and doors.
We’re also pleased to learn that this glazier can work on various shower door styles, such as sliding, corner, inline, and Neo-angle.
The advantage of having different styles available is that clients can hire Alder Glass to create doors and enclosures that will fit small and big spaces.
Another favourable point of this glazier is that it does custom glass parts or features for furniture.
That said, it’s just a tad unfortunate that Alder Glass & Aluminum currently doesn’t offer automotive glass repair and replacement services.
On the bright side, we’re happy that this company offers 24/7 emergency repair services.
However, we were quite disappointed to hear that some clients had to call for immediate repairs because their glass projects had major issues.
Some mentioned their glass broke after just a few slides and swings, while others said that their enclosures frosted fast and didn’t keep the heat in properly.
We think that Alder Glass could improve its work quality to maintain the trust it has garnered and give value to clients’ time and money.

“Our dining room window cracked due to having a sun film on the window which caused a thermal crack. Got three quotes, with one company telling me that I need to replace the whole thing; another company who measured once and then never called me back, and then finally Jeff at Alder who came by and knew right away what the problem was and did several measurements and gave me some options to choose from like double E and argon gas. I knew right away that this guy was very methodical in his measurement and very professional. Ordered the window, came in actually earlier than expected and the installers took no longer than 30 minutes to take the old one out, and install and set the new window in. One of its strong points is that it has multiple branches spanning Winnipeg. It’s also a plus that many of its branches are trusted and recommended by its patrons, which speaks volumes about its consistency.
In terms of its automotive services, the company currently repairs, restores, and replaces windshields, side mirrors, and rear windows.
It also carries over 12,000 windshield models that fit various car models, which is impressive.
As for its side mirrors, it’s a plus that it gets replacement parts from certified Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM).
Clients may have their automotive glass repaired or replaced while maintaining their cars’ structural integrity..
While Speedy Glass’ expertise lies in automotive glass services, we’re surprised that it also does residential glass requests – including windows, mirrors, sliding doors, shower glass, patio doors, glass railings, and sundecks.
We also appreciate that the company’s glaziers offer to vacuum glass debris before and after working to keep their clients’ spaces and vehicles clean.
That said, we hope they would practise the same thoroughness in their work process. Apparently, some of their previous works have visible glue residue, which we find unappealing and untidy.
Some clients also mentioned that they still had parts of the original chips visible along with the repairs.
We also think that Speedy Glass should fine-tune its responsiveness. From what we’re told, some staff don’t call back for quote requests and get back to answering queries even if they’ve promised to do so.

Apparently, architectural and design firms trust this company for providing exceptional glass quality that suit their projects.
What sets them apart is the use of a water-jet cutting technique to create unique glass products, such as letters and customised mirrors.
As for treatments, the glazier currently offers insulated and tempered glass suitable for building durable and energy-efficient windows, doors, and glass panels.
We also have to give it to this glazier for providing glass that are certified by the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA).
