The 5 Best Psychotherapy Centers in Winnipeg That’ll Nourish Your Mind, Body, and Spirit
I’ve been going to therapy for years, but believe it or not, I used to find it so intimidating. Just the idea of being vulnerable in front of a stranger felt overwhelming—that is, until a friend shared her own experiences and encouraged me to book a consultation.
At first, I met a few experts who weren’t the right match for me, but I found someone I clicked with eventually. She was easy to talk to, listened well, and responded without judgment. Since then, she’s been my go-to.
To help you find the right psychotherapist, I made a list of the top practices around, along with my insights to guide your decision.
How much does psychotherapy cost in Winnipeg?
1. NUYU Therapies

Address: 421 Mulvey Ave Unit 313
Phone: +12047719809
Business Hours: Monday-Friday, 10 AM–6 PM
One of the best couples and family therapists around is Judith Nuesh of NUYU Therapies. She is a licensed practitioner, which means she has specialized training and clinical experience under her belt.
According to clients, Nuesh is really easy to talk to and listens well. During sessions, she’s warm and compassionate, creating a safe space for patients to speak openly about their feelings and experiences.
Whether you’re dealing with grief, intimacy issues, or communication problems, she’ll help you resolve them through a holistic, solutions-focused approach. This builds on your strengths, empowering you to make positive lifestyle changes early on.
Apart from couples and family sessions, she offers individual therapy. We like that she handles women’s issues as well, such as pregnancy and motherhood.
The only downside is that Nuesh is the sole therapist here, so slots are limited. You’ll have to book ahead of time to secure a session.

Never a moment when I don’t feel comfortable expressing myself
Judith is my first and last therapist. She is extremely insightful, compassionate, and understanding with whatever may come up during our sessions, and the conversation between us always flows so naturally. There’s never a moment where I don’t feel comfortable expressing myself exactly how I want to, and also without a doubt that Judith will provide me the guidance that I need. Thank you Judith for all that you do!

2. New Aniibiish

Address: 209 Yale Ave W
Phone: +12046126869
Business Hours:
- Monday and Tuesday, CLOSED
- Wednesday-Sunday, 9 AM–5 PM
If you’re dealing with chronic trauma, New Aniibiish is worth checking out. It’s run by Juanita, a psychotherapist whose background in social work gives her an incredible ability to connect with people from different walks of life.
Clients told us that she makes them feel seen and understood. Whether in-person or online, she fosters a safe and trusting environment that encourages vulnerability.
Instead of a one-size-fits-all solution, the therapist draws on multiple approaches to create personalized treatment plans. This ensures that therapy meets your distinctive needs.
We also appreciate how Juanita gives new clients a free half-hour session, allowing you to get to know her before fully committing.
One thing you need to keep in mind, though, is that New Aniibiish is a solo practice. Aside from a long waitlist, there won’t be a backup therapist if Juanita is sick, on vacation, or simply unavailable.
Kind, compassionate, and shows great empathy
Juanita is kind and compassionate and shows great empathy. With the combination of her education and life experiences, she brings a wealth of information to the table. Plus, she’s got a great sense of humor. I would highly recommend her.

3. Safe Harbour Therapy Center

Address: 161 Stafford St #1
Phone: +12048912370
Business Hours: Daily, 8 AM–8 PM
Compared to solo practices, wellness centers with multiple therapists have integrated, holistic care that helps improve your overall well-being. That is what Safe Harbour Therapy Center offers.
Here, they have a diverse selection of professionals, including psychotherapists, most of whom have master’s degrees in counselling psychology. They also have dietitians, acupuncturists, and life coaches.
What we like most is their wide range of specializations. As your needs change, you can simply see a different therapist here instead of starting over elsewhere, ensuring continuity and quality care.
Some of the regulars we talked to have been with them for years. They mentioned the welcoming, non-judgmental environment as a key reason for their stay.
However, there have been complaints about the interns, who don’t stick to their schedules. Some of them failed to show up on the agreed-upon hours, making it stressful for clients to establish regular sessions.
Made progress in just a few sessions
Carmen Okhmatovski is very kind, and knowledgeable. My mom and I had a difficult relationship, and we’ve been to several therapists in the city. It was always a slow grueling process with others, but working with Carmen, it was a breath of fresh air. My mom made progress in just a few sessions with Carmen than she had with all the others combined. And for me, Carmen has a plan to help me cope with the difficulties of this relationship. I highly recommend her.

Takes a kind, non-judgmental approach whenever I need to debrief
I have had approximately 12 years of neurofeedback with Nancy Champaign and I couldn’t have more positive things to say about it. Not only did I notice my emotional regulation increase after the first session but I also found myself more present in my day-to-day life, instead of being plagued with overthinking or cyclical thinking. I would recommend not only Neurofeedback but also booking specifically with Nancy. This is not talk therapy! But, Nancy takes a kind and non-judgmental approach whenever I have needed to debrief. Thank you Nancy. I hope you read this and know you are making a difference.

4. DBT Canada

Address: 1354 Main St #208
Phone: +12047992582
DBT Canada specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that can help with PTSD, depression, and other self-destructive behaviors.
One of their most well-regarded members is Veronica, a registered marriage and family therapist. Clients have described her as validating, compassionate, and nonjudgmental, all important traits that have really encouraged them to open up.
We like that she’s an LGBTQ+ ally who provides an affirmative space to help navigate discrimination and build self-acceptance. She also specializes in bipolar personality disorders and disabilities.
Unfortunately, the building where DBT Canada is located isn’t PWD-friendly, which is a let-down for in-person sessions. But if you’re fine with virtual appointments, you can book through their website.
She created a safe space where I was able to learn to trust again
Veronica is an amazing therapist. She is kind, compassionate, validating, and nonjudgmental. She created a safe space where I was able to learn to trust again. I felt seen and heard in every session. She embodies the quote “healing begins when someone bears witness.” I made more progress in the past few years with her than in a decade of previous therapies. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking help in their healing journey.

Grew in knowledge about myself because of our sessions
Veronica is the best therapist I have ever had. I felt safe, heard, and grew in knowledge about myself because of our sessions. I also found the opportunity to learn DBT skills in the group sessions incredibly helpful. I highly recommend.

5. Oakville Wellness Center

Address:
- 701 Pembina Hwy #200
- 125 St. Anne’s Road
- 2B-553 St. Mary’s Road
Phone: +12045156433
Business Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM–5 PM
Oakville Wellness Center offers in-person and video therapy sessions for children, teens, and adults. With three locations across the city, their services are highly accessible to a wide range of clients.
Having 25+ therapists on their team is pretty convenient as well, which allows them to accommodate appointments on the same day. They’re able to take in new clients more often than other centers.
What stands out most to us is their breadth of clinical experience. This enables them to address co-occurring conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and relationship issues, while maintaining consistency in the treatment.
But due to high demand and a large client base, there’s still a chance that some may experience less continuity, especially when schedules change. Even so, many clients feel that the quality of their care makes it worth adjusting to.
Great couples therapist
Rebecca is a great couples therapist. She is kind, understanding, and has a magic way of making individual concerns come to the forefront while focusing on the problem not the person. It’s been very helpful.

Easy to book an appointment online with them
Oakville Wellness has a secure entrance and a calm and relaxing waiting area. I am happy with the therapist I saw and it was very easy to book an appointment online with them. THey also offer sessions in the evening which is nice for my schedule.
