1. Original Georges Burgers & Subs
Original Georges is where it’s at for big eats and even bigger smiles. Their double Fatboy – two juicy beef patties stacked with melty cheese and chili – is a carnivore’s dream.
But if you’re feeling adventurous, try the hamburger poutine! Imagine a delicious burger under a volcano of crispy fried onions, drenched in warm gravy and gooey mozzarella.
It’s messy fun, and a true taste of Winnipeg!

Need a caffeine kick that isn’t boring? Timothy’s World Coffee on Corydon brews their own beans and won’t break the bank.
When I’m stuck in the summer hear, their iced chai latte is my personal lifesaver. Sometimes, I get the flavored choco chill for a chocolaty pick-me-up.
If you’re feeling more like a bite, their Monte Cristo is the real deal – ham, cheese, and eggy goodness piled high. Timothy’s hits the spot every time.
3. Original Joe’s
Craving a casual hangout with good eats? Original Joe’s is a Winnipeg must-try!
They’ve got juicy burgers like the Nashville hot chicken (if you dare!), or try their creamy bruschetta chicken fettuccine if you’re craving something hearty.
Plus, no Winnipeg meal is complete without poutine, and Joe’s does theirs right – cheesy, flavorful, and perfect for sharing (or not, we won’t judge).
It’s a relaxed atmosphere with good food and good times.
4. Folio Café
Tucked inside the Canadian Mennonite University on Grant, Folio Cafe is one of my go-to spots for a caffeine fix or catching up with friends.
The vanilla latte is smooth and perfect for fueling a study session, but the real star is their gelato. I swear, they have every flavor under the sun – seriously, something for everyone.
Plus, the cafe itself has this bright, airy vibe that makes you feel welcome. Whether you’re a CMU student or just looking for a cool spot with amazing gelato, Folio Cafe won’t disappoint.
5. Jimmy The Greek
Winnipeg’s got tons of Greek options, but Jimmy The Greek hits differently.
The chicken pita is a steal; imagine a fluffy bread overflowing with juicy chicken, fresh veggies, and creamy tzatziki sauce!
For summer eats, I love their chicken souvlaki – skewered, marinated chicken goodness with all the fixings.
Whichever main dish you get here, ordering a side of calamari is a must! Plus, the portions here are legendary, so it’s best to come hungry!
Jimmy The Greek is fast, fresh, and perfect for a delicious Greek fix.
6. House of Taste
Craving something new? House of Taste isn’t your average Winnipeg joint.
We’re talking authentic Middle Eastern cuisine – spices on point, fresh ingredients, and portions that won’t leave you hungry.
If you’re craving meat, then the meat lovers’ main plate is a must! It comes with chicken kebab, beef shawarma, and kofta for a flavor overload.
Veggie lover? Their falafel burger is a winner — crispy patty, fresh toppings, all in a fluffy bun.
7. Sweet Impressions
Calling all those with a sweet tooth! Sweet Impressions Bakery is a must-not-miss in the city.
They’re all about allergy-friendly treats that won’t compromise on flavor.
My personal favorite is their epic cookie sandwich creation–two giant, melt-in-your-mouth cookies filled with creamy goodness. Plus, their chocolate bark packs are perfect for on-the-go snacking.
In my experience, they also do caffeine right. Grab an iced mocha alongside your treats–it’s the perfect pick-me-up!
8. Enoteca
For a fancy night out with seriously good eats, Enoteca is your spot.
Chef Scott Bagshaw is a flavor magician, and his small plates are perfect for sharing.
My top recommendation is the seared scallops. These beauties come with a mind-blowing combo of Marcona pesto, a citrusy calamansi pickle, and a creamy, savory umeboshi aioli.
And for pasta lovers, the pappardelle with crab is a dream–giant noodles tossed in a rich, creamy crab bisque sauce and finished with a bright, herby gremolata.
Enoteca isn’t cheap, but for a special occasion or a night to impress, it’s worth every penny!
9. Bernstein’s Deli
For a hearty, delicious deli fare, Bernstein’s Deli on Corydon Avenue is one of my top choices! This place is like being welcomed by a warm hug – friendly service, happy diners, and the comforting aroma of good food filling the air.
Their menu is a celebration of classic deli dishes, but if you’re looking for an epic combo, the chicken and waffles plate is a must-try. Fluffy golden waffles paired with juicy, crispy chicken – pure breakfast (or brunch!) perfection.
Another one of my favorites is their smoked salmon wrap–it’s light, flavorful, and oh-so-satisfying!
10. Stella’s
Winnipeg breakfast lovers, listen up! Stella’s on Grant is my go-to spot for delicious eats any time of day.
The best part? They have an all-day breakfast!
My current obsession is their chorizo hash–spicy chorizo sausage, peppers, onions, and perfectly cooked eggs all piled high on a bed of potatoes.
But Stella’s isn’t just about breakfast! Their lunch and dinner options are fantastic too.
I highly recommend the French dip. Slow-roasted beef dipped in a creamy dijon mayo with sweet caramelized onions, all on a toasted brioche bun? Yes, please!
It comes with a side of crispy roasted potatoes for dipping in that amazing, flavorful au jus.
