For those who don’t know, I’m a bit of an outdoorsman. All of my free time is usually spent in nature: biking in parks, hiking mountains, and paddling across Winnipeg’s waters.
As you can probably imagine, I’ve amassed quite a collection. It didn’t take very long for my current apartment to fill up with gear and supplies for my wilderness escapades — and I know that I’m just going to keep getting more.
So, I finally decided to look for a home for them. And once I find a moving company that can help me, I’d be on my way.
But before I could start planning logistics, I had to do some research. Winnipeg has plenty of storage space facilities all over, but it was a matter of locating the ones that I could trust with safekeeping.

1. Access Storage

In the 25 years since it opened, Access Storage has expanded to more than 250 locations across the country, making it Canada’s largest self-storage provider.
They’ve got a huge variety of units available, ranging from small ones that are about the size of a closet to large options that are bigger than 200 sq ft. And if that still isn’t enough, they also offer commercial units with custom sizes.
We appreciate that they have enhanced facilities for certain needs as well. These include heated lockers, vehicle storage, and drive-up units.
You’ll be happy to know that their establishments are very accessible, as they’re typically open from 6 AM to 11 PM for renters. But gated access and 24/7 security would make it almost impossible for non-owners to enter.
However, you’ll have to be a bit patient if you have any concerns. We’ve heard that their customer service can be hard to reach.

Now, although their facilities are mostly clean, the same can’t be said for their grounds. It seems their outdoor spaces aren’t as well-kept, especially during the colder months.

It’s really all thanks to their staff members, who are known for being attentive. Even if they aren’t on site, you can simply reach out with your concerns, and they’ll do their best to help.
That being said, we do feel the need to warn you that there have been reports of their prices increasing several times in the past few years.
