5 Best Home Office Furniture Stores in Winnipeg to Upgrade Your Setup

Product variety and quality: We looked for stores with stylish, sturdy pieces that can handle the daily grind without looking dull.

Ergonomic focus: Comfort mattered just as much as looks. We favoured chairs and desks that won’t leave your back complaining by noon.

Local presence and service: Showrooms earned extra points because trying before buying beats guessing. Solid delivery and helpful support mattered too.

Customer reputation: We prioritized retailers known for good service and clear communication. A smooth experience shouldn’t end once you’ve paid.

I’ve been hunting for a good office chair that won’t leave me shifting around by lunch. While at it, I realized that the best home office furniture in Winnipeg takes more than picking whatever looks comfy online.

A good setup should save your back without making your spare room look like a cubicle. I wanted something ergonomic, sturdy, and stylish enough to live with every day.

So I checked out local options that balance comfort, function, and decent value. These are my top picks for giving your home office a proper upgrade.

How much does home office furniture cost in Winnipeg?

A basic desk-and-chair setup in Winnipeg can start at around $250. Higher-end ergonomic setups can reach $1,800 or more.

Entry-level desks usually cost $150 to $350, while basic office chairs run about $100 to $250. Mid-range desks typically cost $500 to $1,200, with chairs priced around $300 to $600.

Your final cost will depend on materials, adjustability, ergonomics, and added storage.

1. Furniture Villa BrandSource

Website

Address: 1070 St. James Street

Contact: 204-775-9000

Hours: Monday – Friday, 10 AM – 7 PM | Saturday, 10 AM – 6 PM | Sunday, noon – 5 PM

I like a furniture store where I can sort out more than one corner of the room at once. Furniture Villa BrandSource makes that easy with desks, storage, and plenty of matching pieces under one roof.

The selection spans multiple furniture brands, so comparing styles doesn’t feel like a scavenger hunt. I also like having a Winnipeg showroom where you can see finishes and proportions before committing.

It’s especially handy if your home office needs more than just a new chair. You can build a more coordinated setup without bouncing between half a dozen stores.

The downside is that warranty coverage varies by product, so it’s worth checking the terms before buying. Some items may also face stock or delivery delays, which can make timing a little less predictable.

Pros

  • Broad selection of home office furniture
  • Multiple furniture brands to compare
  • Winnipeg showroom for in-person browsing
  • Matching pieces for a coordinated workspace
  • Desks, storage, and other furnishings under one roof

Cons

  • Warranty coverage varies by product
  • Some items may face stock or delivery delays

Quality furniture

Great service, quality furniture. When I need any furniture or appliances, I always go to Furniture Villa because I know I won’t be complaining in the future about broken cheap furniture, and the staff goes the extra mile to make sure you are happy. They are all very kind and funny.

Very easy buying process

Our experience with Furniture Villa was amazing. Victor made the buying process very easy. The furniture showed up on time. Our favourite part was the delivery team’s excellent home setup experience and zero damage.

Thanks, guys. See you in the future

2. G&L Furniture Warehouse

Website

Address: 30 Hutchings Street

Contact: 204-694-2774

Hours: Monday – Friday, 10 AM – 6 PM | Saturday – Sunday, 10 AM – 4 PM

I’m always interested in a furniture store that can stretch a home-office budget a little further. G&L Furniture Warehouse leans into that with discounted pricing, brand-name pieces, and plenty of stock under one roof.

Their Winnipeg warehouse is large, so there’s a lot to browse without hopping between several stores. I also like that they carry desks and coordinated home-office sets for anyone starting from scratch.

The warehouse-style setup feels more practical than polished, which suits bargain hunters just fine (though it will take more time browsing). If you care more about value than showroom theatrics, this place makes a strong case.

The catch is the cancellation policy, which includes a 5% restocking fee. Refunds are also limited to cancellations made within seven calendar days, so I’d be sure before checking out.

Pros

  • Discounted pricing on brand-name furniture
  • Large Winnipeg warehouse with plenty to browse
  • Desks and coordinated home office sets available
  • Good option for budget-conscious shoppers

Cons

  • Large warehouse can take time to browse
  • 5% restocking fee on cancellations
  • Refund window for cancellations is limited to seven days

Excellent experience

I had an excellent experience with Ms Angelica here in G&L. She is friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all my questions. Her recommendations helped me find exactly what I was looking for, and the entire process was smooth and professional. I appreciate her patience and outstanding customer service. Highly recommended.

The furniture quality looks excellent

My husband and I had a great experience visiting G&L Furniture Warehouse. The prices are very good and the furniture quality looks excellent. What really stood out was the customer service—Angelica was very friendly, helpful, and patient while answering all our questions. She made the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommend checking this place out!

3. Dufresne Furniture & Appliances Store

Website

Address: 1750 Ellice Ave

Contact: 204-989-9900

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 8 PM | Saturday, 9 AM – 6 PM | Sunday, 11 AM – 6 PM

I like having options when I’m piecing together a home office, especially when my chair and desk need to play nicely together. Dufresne makes that easier with desks, office chairs, bookcases, and other workspace basics in one place.

Their home-office selection covers plenty of styles, so you’re not stuck choosing between corporate grey and more corporate grey. I also like that you can book one-on-one shopping help in-store or virtually.

That extra guidance can be handy if you’re furnishing more than one corner of the room. It’s a practical stop for anyone who wants home-office pieces alongside other household furniture.

The downside is that Dufresne isn’t an office-furniture specialist, so highly ergonomic or commercial-grade options may be more limited. Serious chair shoppers may want to compare dedicated office retailers too.

It’s also worth noting that custom orders require a 25% non-refundable deposit, so changing your mind can get costly. I’d make sure the size, finish, and style are right before committing.

Pros

  • Good range of desks, office chairs, and bookcases
  • Several styles for different home office setups
  • One-on-one shopping appointments available
  • Convenient for buying office and household furniture together

Cons

  • Custom orders require a 25% non-refundable deposit
  • Less specialized than dedicated ergonomic office furniture stores

Good service

IQ was the best. Knowledgeable, professional, easy to talk to and wasn’t overly pushy. He made himself available whenever we needed assistance, even giving us his personal cell phone number. He also followed up after we received the furniture to make sure we were happy.  We would come back to Dufresne for sure and always ask for IQ

By far the best furniture sales experience

The sales associate was awesome. I already knew what I wanted and they skipped the sales pitch and went right into the paperwork. Didn’t upsell but they ensured I was fully informed of the options and the costs associated. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. By far the best furniture sales experience I’ve ever been through.

4. Lord Selkirk Furniture

Website

Address: 435 Selkirk Ave

Contact: 204-943-0911

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM | Saturday, 9 AM – 5 PM | Sunday, 12:30 PM – 5 PM

I like a local furniture shop with some history behind it, and Lord Selkirk Furniture has been family-owned since 1976. Their home-office range leans heavily into computer desks and bookcases, with plenty of sizes and styles to compare.

That makes it a handy stop if your workspace needs storage as much as surface area. I also like that there are compact desk options for smaller Winnipeg homes where every square foot has to earn its keep.

The selection feels more traditional and practical than flashy, which can be a plus if you want something easy to live with. There’s enough variety to build a tidy setup without overcomplicating things.

The main drawback is the limited emphasis on dedicated office chairs compared with desks and shelving. You may need to shop elsewhere if ergonomic seating is high on your list.

Pros

  • Family-owned Winnipeg business since 1976
  • Wide selection of computer desks
  • Good range of bookcases and storage options
  • Compact desk choices for smaller spaces
  • Several styles and sizes available

Cons

  • Limited emphasis on dedicated office chairs (ergonomic seating may require shopping elsewhere)

Highly recommend

Great quality and service as always!  Thank you team at Lord Selkirk for going the extra mile. Great selection, great prices and the best service. I have been shopping here for over 20yrs and never had any issues, highly recommend this place for all your furniture needs.

Amazing experience

I had an amazing experience with Lord Selkirk Furniture and I’m so glad we stopped by the store!  The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to purchase furniture within our budget. Also the items we chose were in stock (hard to come by these days). Communication was excellent. Delivery and setup person was also excellent. I would highly recommend this locally owned business. Thank you

5. Urban Barn Crossroads

Website

Address: #1 – 1594 Regent Avenue West

Contact: 204-663-7656

Hours: Monday – Saturday, 10 AM – 6 PM | Sunday, 11 AM – 6 PM

I’m a sucker for home-office furniture that doesn’t make the room feel like a cubicle. Urban Barn Crossroads leans into that with desks, chairs, bookcases, and storage pieces that feel more décor-friendly than corporate.

The range works especially well if you want your workspace to blend into the rest of your home. I also like that you can add matching accents and shelving without making the setup look overly office-like.

It’s a good fit for anyone chasing a cleaner, more polished workspace with plenty of personality. The showroom also makes it easier to judge finishes and proportions before committing.

The catch is price, since some desks and storage pieces sit well above budget-furniture territory. Shoppers after advanced ergonomic seating may also find fewer specialized options here.

Pros

  • Stylish, design-forward desks and office chairs
  • Good range of bookcases and display shelving
  • Home office pieces blend well with residential décor
  • Matching accents and storage available
  • Winnipeg showroom for in-person browsing

Cons

  • Higher pricing than budget-focused furniture stores
  • Fewer heavy-duty office storage options
  • Limited emphasis on advanced ergonomic seating

Beautiful Furniture

I have purchased many pieces at Urban Barn, and my experience has always been positive.  All employees are very helpful, spending as much time with customers as needed without pressure. The furniture is beautiful too!

Great products

Regent Urban Barn has great selection and service! This is the only place in Winnipeg right now we were able to get any furniture in a few weeks as opposed to  4-6 months from other stores! Thank you for your great products and speed!!!!
